OVERVIEW
The National Grain and Feed Association’s feed-related efforts address regulatory and legislative issues important to or affecting the feed and animal agriculture industry, focusing on feed and food safety through overall improvements in industry regulations and compliance. This is accomplished through active representation of member companies and effective interaction with Congress and federal and state regulatory agencies, international bodies and other interested parties. AAFCO conducts 2024 Midyear Meeting
More than 450 industry representatives and regulatory officials participated on Jan. 23-25 in the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) Midyear Meeting to discuss a variety of animal food regulatory issues.
NGFA Update: HPAI detected in Texas, Kansas dairy cattle
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on March 25 announced that unpasteurized, clinical samples of milk from sick cattle collected from two dairy farms in Kansas and one in Texas, as well as an oropharyngeal swab from another dairy in Texas, have tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). USDA states that based on findings from Texas, the detections appear to have been introduced by wild birds.
